One of the goods things about working is that i am getting less time to think at home. I find the work has helped still my mind and i am enjoying be part of a team. I have struggled to work for many years and i find it tough to do the hours i need to do to earn enough. I know it is a balancing act for many people, to work but not make myself ill. I am coming up to my first year of being in a job i like and i feel good about not having loads of time to be in my condition, it comes up everyday if i work or not, i am getting little bit of relief, i still avoid and try to control stuff all the time. I would like to hear from others that work or would like to or happy not to.

I changed my career many years ago to being a consultant, this gave me opportunity to work in stints as I have big fluctuations during winter and dark months

like you I work only to live but I still enjoy the odd day where it’s so manic that it takes my mind off being the real me .. I wear my job like the mask I put on most day, it’s a release from the norm.

I find work to be a great distraction and all the energy that goes into intrusive thoughts can be redirected to the job at had. Being obsessive and striving for perfection has its good points at work. I'm not working currently and have very little to distract me and it's driving me insane.
