I often do this, not BP but BPD, i guess i'm always searching for some answers, maybe some magical cure that nobody has told me about, how does everybody else cope, im i the only one that thinks like me.

Also it doesn't stop at my MH, i am always researching something, from my fav ,music, tv & movies to my existence and why the universe does what it does. The problem with obsessive research is it never ends, with every answer there are more and more questions.

Happy researching, i hope you find what you are looking for

If you are not diagnosed, it would be worrying it it shows you are obviously worried you have it, and sometimes behavior can be affected by what you believe/read

If diagnosed, it normal, but not normal when it becomes obsessive.. I did used to research a lot, mainly for things to show my episode was caused just be the ssri, that im not bipolar! But I am, I know most stuff now so just go to forums, no need to research it and the pdoc will tell you what you need to know

It's good to identify with the authors, but extensively doing it may get you caught up in your own condition too much and less on what's enjoyable in life. There is life outside of the illness, it's just an extension of who you are, but the essence of who you are is you, not the disease.

I'd absorb as much as you can that way you can talk to the physician about your episodes and leave it at that. Much more appealing works to read unless you want to be a doctor or therapist. Then you'd really have to be up on the new approaches.
