I think it is important to live a balanced life if one has tendencies to become depressed. A whole-person perspective is necessary to keep depression away or at a minimum. That can mean focus on nutrition, physical exercises, relaxation, sleep hygiene, social contacts, routines, antidepressants, perhaps a therapist and not to forget looking out for triggers (learn to recognize them). Luckily I have had a whole-person perspective for years, but still it took a loooong time to find the right balance that worked for me. So all in all many areas have to be worked upon.
