My partner was sectioned in June and been told she has Schizophrenia ? when my partner was sectioned she thought it was 1999 when just got together and had a baby which we did have, we have been apart since 2003 but only got back together in March. She also thought she was my dead wife and was carrying my Daughter who I lost to cot death before I met Jo my now partner.

We was talking tonight and she wants to come off the drugs as she thinks she not ill but just had a mental breakdown back in June. The help we get from early prevention team is bad no help at all I have left many messages but no call back.I do feel like I am on my own to sort everything out.

Should I let my partner stop taking the drugs just to see if she is right ? I really don't know what to do for the best anymore :low:

hi and :welcome: ,I wouldn't suggest she should stop taking the medication without speaking to a professional first ,could you both go see her gp and explain how bad the care she is receiving is? hopefully her gp could refer her to better care ,I don't think she should stop medication she could have a relapse and withdrawal symptoms x

Thanks for getting back to me :) I am going to make her an appointment to see her gp today The other worry is she has put on 3 stone since her illness but I think it is the drugs that has made her put on weight.
