Hello recently joined.

Had depression and mood swings since late teens, I am now 51.
I have been terrified to face my illness and tried to bury it. Resulting in relationship problems, loneliness and work problems and recently suicidal thoughts.

Got drunk last week and took an overdose, hoping not to wake up.

Ended up in a+e and referred to crisis team.

Commenced on fluoxetine 20mg, which I reacted very badly to within a few hours.

Fluoxetine changed to cipalopram 20mg, now day 3 and so far no side effects.

I hope these work for me.

Stay well and safe,
Woody

Hi letmein,
Thank you for the welcome.
I'm in the midlands too, I gave my job up 8 months ago due to stress but have got to get a job asap as wife can't support me much longer. Not sure if I can claim benefits.

I asked crisis team about benefits i was told to go to citizens advice. (Very helpful)

I have found the crisis team unsupportive and at times difficult to deal with, I hope they discharge me to my GP asap.

I am ok today, a little tired and numb.

How are you doing letmein?

Stay safe and well
Woody
