Apparently the Government's 10 year plan (the National Service Framework for NSF) runs out in 2009. 7 big guns in the voluntary sector (including Mind, Rethink, Mental Health Foundation) have written a New Vision for Mental Health - you can find links including a download for the document itself at...

http://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/campaigns/new-vision-for-mental-health/

I haven't had a chance to read it yet and am hoping that I may be able to get hold of a paper copy somehow as I much prefer reading lengthy documents in paper copies :).

The deadline for responses is Friday 3rd October. I was thinking of putting something together about the role of the internet and forums (yup like this why not?) but when I feel rather mentally sharper than I do right now.

Anyway maybe we could start a discussion here.

Nick.

Well spotted nick.

At least it's not one of those monster publications. 24 pages isn't too bad (you're going to tell me that's the Executive Summary lol).

Honey,
xx

Yes same here kp - I do get tired trying to read things on the screen. So I am going to wait a while and see if I can get a paper copy.

Nickh I just want to say, thanks so much for posting that, as I would never have known about it unless you had. I have read part 1 and will come back on here and read part 2 and 3 at another time. I have also taken up their invitation to email them with my response. Thanks, Nickh
