Hello I've been on citalophram before and recently ordered some more. I have a brilliant girlfriend, family and friends around me but still find myself depressed when really I have nothing to be depressed about. I keep thinking about the past and what I could of done different

Sorry to hear you are experiencing depression. If you are having problems ruminating over the past, then it is to do with accepting the past and using it to guide your decisions in the future, rather than get you down. Obviously all this is easier said than done, so it's about making an active effort to fight the depression and those thoughts. I am not sure if you have been offered therapy but I highly recommend it as it may help you get your issues off your chest and make some sense out them. Medication on its own is unlikely to help you depression but there are active things you can do such as meditation, exercise, therapy, using the internet which has a wealth of resources on it for self help, self help books etc. One of my favourite sayings: the past is a foreign country they do things differently there. You could consider CBT as one possible type of therapy that may help. You can self refer on the NHS.
I also want to reiterate the exercise thing - it can be a massive mood lifter and people don't invest in it enough

Hello Felipe, I’m sorry to hear of your struggles. I have been on citalopram for many years now and I, like yourself have a lovely, supportive family and two wonderful children. Some people question my depression and ask what I have to feel sad about. There is no answer for that , we all have our own problems and pasts that have played a part in how we feel. How are you feeling on the medication? Do you feel as if it’s making any difference ?
