Hello volnash, :welcome:

I am not sure about withdrawal though I believe tapering slowly is the best way to do it. There is some info on coming off psych meds here:

and there's people here who have done it, I'm sure they'll be along to help

It all started about 1.5 years ago, i was doing alot of drugs, just became a father and the stress and denial was weighing heavy on my spirit, i was also very angry during a long period due to some unfortunate things that happened to me, pissed off at the world you could say which depleted alot of my energy.

One night no different than other nights i was chatting on a website, and suddenly i heard men talking in my garden, i looked out and saw several soldiers or so i thought in the yard, i even saw snipers in the bushes, i immediately reacted with shock, and threw myself to the ground i then proceeded to call 911, i told them there were guerilla soldiers in my garden, and of course they sent swat, i remember retreating to my basement with fear in my veins, with a knife and a rifle which didnt even work, but i thought it might scare them from entering the house, i sat in the basement on my toes so i was ready to run out and stab whoever came in, after consideration i decided to try and throw the knife, however about 35 minutes later the police knocked down the door upstairs and said police, come out! so without thinking i ran up the stairs with the fricking knife in my hand, not thinking about it and they immediately said, drop the knife or we will shoot you, in my crazed mentality i still managed to put the knife down.

They put me in handcuffs led me to the car, and drove me to the emergency room, where i talked to a doctor i explained what happened, and he started talking about this hospital which was where i needed to be, i had no idea what this hospital was so i just went along with it, thinking that a hospital thats not so bad, the worst thing is that when they cuffed me the hallucinations had already stopped, and the situation was back to normal so i was fully aware at this point.

Then i arrived at the hospital, they moved me through a metal detector and i was like, hey what hospital is this? and they just said dont worry about that, from that point on i went through several different psychotic fantasies, in one i was a viking god, in one i was an angel, in one i was a marine running around in afghanistan libya etc, slitting throats and shooting people off their camels, yeah i was that good, haha the mind really is capable of the most amazing things, anyhow time went on and about 3 months later the psychotic episodes suddenly stopped, nevertheless i had already been diagnosed with undifferenciated schizofrenia.

Time went by all so slowly, as i was better at this point the hallucinations stopped, as did the voices i started to ask myself, am i really sick or what the hell just happened to me, and why did it happen, i was doing steroids too at the time, was overtraining every single day just to keep my mind busy, it takes about 3 months for steroids to leave the body, and in some cases it can lead to brain damage, i thought this had to be the reason and started convincing the doctors this had to be the case, at first they were in denial but they admitted to not having taken any blood tests of me prior to being admitted.

Some months went by and i was discharged from the mental health hospital, as my recovery was persistent, 2 psychiatrists later and alot of sessions they are convinced my problems were drug related, i am relieved.

It's now been about 1 year 5 months since my last episode and i am finally going down on the medicine, the next injection is the 6th next month, and i will be getting 325mg then, followed by 300 275 250 225 200 175 150 125 100 75 50 25 and finish, it will take 12 months to get off the medication, but what is one year compared to a lifetime, simply nothing.

Wish me luck, i will probably need it and thank you for reading:)
