Hi everyone,
I thought I’d reach out to the forums as I’ve been struggling for a while now mentally. I’ve been feeling really down lately and sometimes I’m not even sure why and I ruminate on my thoughts to help myself understand why I feel this way. Because of my constant ruminating, it leads me to feel extremely exhausted. COVID has definitely not helped with continuous lockdowns, my job is becoming quite stagnant, I’ve had no luck in finding another job for a while now, I’m not happy with my eating habits, my level of cigarette smoking has increased and I feel just an immense amount of sadness sometimes for no reason and just lack motivation with everything at the moment. My friends hardly check up on me because everyone assumes I’m the “strong” one, and for a while now I feel I always live up to that expectation.
My partner has been so amazing and supportive and continues to be.
I try engage with self-care activities which sometimes works, I just feel lately all these feelings have been making me irritable and moody around people. I try to remind myself that there’s people in worse off situations, and to practice gratitude. But sometimes everything just seems so hard.

Hello! I'm sorry you're having to deal with so many things at once. When I'm having a hard time my favorite saying is "one step at a time" and then I'll do one proactive thing in the moment, or I'll just eat an apple, for example. I know it all feels like way too much, but we're here to support you!
