My uncle emigrated to Canada when I was 3, so I haven't exactly seen much of him during my life. Recently he came over to visit, I feel bad because I didn't see him, he was only in the same city as me for 2 days, he went to Ireland & France & Italy, but he was staying with my mum 100 miles away for a week. I cannot drive/do not have a car & trains are just too expensive for me - so seeing him at my mum's would've been difficult & not really an option, but I should've made more of an effort on one of the two days he was fairly local (well staying about 15 miles from where I live), but I struggle to do anything/everything due to a severe lack of energy. I didn't ask my mum how she accounted for a lack of my presence.

I bet your uncle would understand, it was a short stay by sound of it.

Your mum possibly accounted for lack of your presence well too.
