I witnessed my maternal grandmother die from a murder at the hospital. she was stabbed at a family dollar. I can remember specific details from the night at the hospital. This caused my depression to become extremely worse to the point where i tried to kill myself and i got sent to inpatient care. While at inpatient, i saw red marker or something on a counter and had something like a flashback. it caused me to have extreme anxiety and i told the psychiatrist at the hospital and he immediately diagnosed me with ptsd. i had emdr therapy but i still have intrusive thoughts and panic attacks from time-to-time.

Hi there @ummmmmchile

I'm really sorry for what you experienced that caused your PTSD.

I also have PTSD and have gone through therapy but still struggle often when I've been triggered.

Unfortunately that seems to be the nature of the disorder, doing fine until a trigger comes along. Then it's back to dealing with symptoms time and time again.

Have you tried other therapies besides EMDR? Some modalities seem to help better than others.
