Morning anxiety.

Why is it that I feel my anxiety more in the morning than in the afternoon? I just started taking Alprazolam and I also got prescribed Trazadone (I think that’s how it spelled) to help sleep. It did knock me out last night.

Mornings are awful? Im going with that.

Ok seriously if i had to guess its because the day is ahead of you and by afternoon the stressfull parts are starting to go behind you.

And they’re not awful because I wake up by my kids every day and they bring me so much comfort but I just wake up so anxious and scared. I don’t know why.😟

Its because in the morning you have the whole day ahead of you. More to be anxious about, whilst by the afternoon you are half way through and the day isn't going that bad

This is just an idea that works for me.
Go outside and thank the Sun for doing its job each morning.
Let your feet feel the earth. The wet dew. It grounds you.
Even if you do things like this mentally looking out of a window.
Everyday, is a miracle for you.

lizard56 -- IMO, the start of your question -- Why is it that I feel my anxiety more ... -- is contributing to your problem.
My suggestion instead is to ACCEPT that you have more anxiety early than late. Let the anxiety wash over you early, and ACCEPT that you have it.
I can tell you from experience that questioning and grinding over the "WHY's" of GAD only made my symptoms worse.
I hope you don't consider my response flippant to your problem(s). That's not my intent.
My intent is drive home my opinion that the best way to deal with GAD, and work toward recovery (short of using medication), is to fully accept that you have it, and fully accept how it makes you feel.
DISCLAIMER
Accepting, or Acceptance, is easy for me to say and won't be so easy for you to do. But it can be done. I'm living proof.

I get this every morning.. I'm on edge for about 2 hours after waking up.. I have noticed if I look at my phone for a period of time when I wake up I feel more anxious. Not sure how it works... Maybe try some new routines when you wake up see if that helps?.
