Hi everyone I’m new to the forum. I was recently diagnosed with bipolar 2, PTSD, depression and anxiety. However, my biggest episode ended up being a mixed episode and I feel it coming again. I feel the shakiness internally, racing thoughts, irritation and I was to do things, but I’m exhausted but my body wants to go. There’s many other warnings but I might not know them more. Any advice on how to pick point things or what coping mechanisms to do? Any help is always appreciated. Peace and love 💙🙏🏻

Honestly I find mixed episodes to be very difficult to cope with but I do know of a few things that have helped me in the past. If I manage to sleep I find this is best thing, although getting any sleep during a mixed episode is very hard without medication. Anything relaxing can help, take a shower or a btah, meditate, watch a movie or just take a walk in fresh air away from people. I also find working or anything that gets your mind off things can help. None of these are full-proof methods, but they have helped me in the past. Best wishes and take care.

Thanks for the response M and for all your feedback. I’ll definitely try out all your methods and see if any of them stick! I do meditations daily and workout every morning I guess I just need a little more TLC haha.

I learned a lot of coping skills in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Bipolar.

Even though I've gained coping skills from DBT, symptoms still break through and overwhelm them sometimes. When that happens, I call my psychiatrist for med adjustments. That's been working well lately.

Antidepressants and stimulants including lots of caffeine can make mixed episodes worse.
