I'm 124 days clean today. However my depression has been in full rage mode for the past few weeks. And I've been missing my twice a week NA meetings and not calling my sponsor as a result. I know this is the fast track to relapse, but I don't know how to hop out of bed and make my feet move anymore, and people exhaust me. How can I get myself back into the spirit?

124 days - awesome accomplishment.
You want to keep this going!
Do you have anyone you can call on to help get you going to the meetings? Family, friends, or can your sponsor help?

In my opinion, he needs to see his psychiatrist so he can prescribe similar substances to him. How is it an accomplishment if his whole life is going down the tubes and his career suffers? In my opinion, he clearly needs medication to function, medication very similar to the drugs he was taking.

It's not enough to be able to do without, you also have to do good without.

He is a she, but I am on a LOT of medication. I have bipolar type 1. I'm not on anything similar to the drugs I was taking, but mood stabilizers, anti-psychotics, anti-depressants, the like. My doctor seems content with the fact that my manic episodes have lessened almost entirely, and doesn't seem to mind the depression as long as I'm not manic.

Thing is my manic episodes is how I got shit done, so I used drugs to trigger them. :(

My husband escorted me to my meeting last night. My sponsor wanted to talk to me after but people were still a bit to much so I dipped after. Still, at least I made it.

I'm glad you went. Maybe you can call your sponsor after awhile, when you feel up to it. Does s/he call you when they don't hear from you for awhile?

I have depression, anxiety, and agoraphobia. My anxiety is being controlled by Klonopin (a sedative) which has completely taken away the panic, but exacerbates the depression. I know how you can fall into a black hole of not being able to do much of anything.
I'm slowly getting better at getting out and getting things done. I'm just concentrating really hard on small accomplishments. You going to the meeting was a great accomplishment!
I'm assuming you told your doctor about how bad the depression is getting? You said they are fine as long as you aren't manic, but maybe the antidepressant you are taking is not the right one for you, or has stopped working.
If you ever want to talk, you can email me (envelope on the top of screen) or just post to the board.

Thank you, I appreciate it! Today I managed to get dressed in something that isn't my jammies for class (I've got a few college classes to attend) so that's a plus as well. I'm on Klonopin as well, three times a day. Also Seroquil three times a day, ambien at night, and effexor, which is the anti depressant that's supposed to give me energy. I can't honestly say I've ever had an anti-depressant that's really worked, but I figured the energy from the effexor would at least get me out of bed.

Klonopin is great, but really makes me tired. I wouldn’t give it up, though. Before it was non-stop anxiety.
So we just have to work our way past the lethargy it (and for you, Ambien) causes.
Great you got dressed and are going to classes. See, you are getting things done! Feel good about what you are accomplishing.

Good for you for making your doctor take you seriously!
I hope you have positive results with the new medicine. It sounds like it's similar to Abilify, as far as it being an add on to the antidepressant.
Good luck, and let us know how it's working for you.

trigger warning: suicide attempt mention

It is structurally similar to abilify as well! However abilify gives me migraines, I never could stay on it long. So far no headaches! He still doesn't take me seriously, I don't trust him at all. Unfortunately he's the only one in my town that will accept me now. I have a history of suicide attempts, and last time I took all of my meds and was in a coma for 2 weeks and had major surgery on my throat. After that, it took me months to find somebody to accept me. So I always put on my good girl smile for him and act unphased when I want to hit him. :innocent:
