Hi. I have just increased my mirtizapine from 15mg to 30 mg and feel really unwell. Head feels very tight and I can't seem to think properly, like I'm not here. Can anyone help please!

Hi, I've just increased mine to 45mg not really taking it for depression but was advised by neurologist to take it for neuralgia pain on right side of head. My head feels tight and I get muscle spasms in tummy and right hand though I'm not sure if this is down to mitazapan use or not. Very worrying and it scares me.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry you are also having problems with it. I am surprised that it's used for pain I have never heard this before. I'm sure they could prescribe something else for you if you are having problems with it. I take pregabalim for pelvic pain. I think I will reduce the mirt back down to 15mg as I feel so bad at the moment don't think I could face another day like this!!

This was prescribed for nerve pain I believe. I have a trapped nerve and arthritis in thoracic spine, am currently seeing a choipractor for trapped nerve, but this muscle spasm Is driving me nuts. I will be reverting to 30mg to see if this helps. One of the symptoms of the trapped nerve is that my right arm feels extremely heavy which is making movement quite painful. I need patience, can't wait to be back to normal

I also have a trapped nerve in pelvic area caused when I had a pelvic lift several years ago. I knoe how you feel with the pain it's awful. I finding it hard sitting or lying down. Pregabalim does help with nerve pain could be an option for you if all else fails. Take care!

Every person responds differently to these meds. I am on 45mg and its been a godsend to me, but I understand if its causing you problems to go back to your doc and ask about it.

Hi I am on 30 mg for sleep. So far everything good. I do wake up with horrid dreams though. My appetite has increased to normal-i was not eating and this why my gp prescribed MIz. I was taking Trazodone. I think if I was awake taking this medication I would have problems. It does make me stay asleep at night and I had the worst insomnia ever. You may need another type of med. Lots of hugs and good wishes Jules

I have decided to reduce back down to 15mg as the 30mg seems to be making me worse. If no better will ask to change to something else,. Glad you are o.k. with it. Thanks for your help. Hugs back To you x
