After talking with my therapist, she very much alluded to the fact she thinks I'm a paranoid schizophrenic but wants me to see a psych first so I can be medicated need be, but I am worried about this new chapter in my life.

I was wondering if anyone would like to be friends to help support me through this time? or at least answer some questions since its all so new for me? thank you all 💕

I'm on 10mg of Aripiprazole (aka Abilify) and 4mg of Risperidone (aka Risperdal) for psychosis but they're the same drugs used for schizophrenia.

I consider my psychosis to be over but I still hear a voice in my mind that isn't my own and the drugs help with that along with preventing a full on relapse into a delusional and paranoid psychotic episode.

I'm happy to share my experiences with you.

I was recently told I have schizoaffective disorder. I’d be happy to be friends. You are not alone on this forum. I’ve met so many nice people here. I feel supported and appreciated.

Youtherapist is right you need to be assessed by a psychiatrist as they are the only ones that can give a definite diagnosis

Just to correct I meant I remember how my brother behaved which lead to his diagnosis, not how he would react. That would only be from my perspective though, not his personally. Sorry.

i have paranoid schizophrenia and take a load of different meds including clozapine and haloperidol. Side effects suck but they help a bit. I also had CBT for psychosis which helped with dealing with some of the symptoms

I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia when I was 19. I will be 50 this coming April and have recently been diagnosed as also having an FND(Functional Neurological Disorder). I am seeking to make contact with my peers for support and friendship.
