Merging INTERVOICE Forum with the Mental Health Forum - A proposal

Hi Everybody

Because of the problems we have been experiencing recently with the running of the forum
For instance:
the problems with spam being sent to peoples post boxes
the large number of fake join ups we are receiving.
the inappropriate postings and the need for more moderation
the relatively few posts to the forum

I am considering merging the INTERVOICE Forum with our sister forum which is called the Mental Health Forum, go to http://www.mentalhealthforum.net/ to see what it looks like.

The advantages of merging are:
It has a much larger and active membership
It is moderated much more rigorously
It has an existing folder re. hearing voices
It runs on the same system
It is bug free and not subject to spamming

We can keep our own identity as the INTERVOICE forum but many more people can view and post, hopefully making it much more interesting and supportive for everyone.

What do you think of this proposal?

Let me know, I would be grateful for your imput.

Best wishes

Paul Baker

Parker,
You have the opportunity to help and give valuable information to all voice hearers and I hope you choose to do that.
I wish you well Parker.
So why the poking and prodding?

Paul,
This forum, in all incarnations, is probably an embarrasment to the original voice-hearing movement. Escher and Romme might prefer to just discard the entire mess.
The yahoo group is much the same.

Parker,
Ummm, because cattle needs to be poked and prodded when they're out of hand or gone asray.

Parker,
You have befriended me and then turned on me
so this is why I state "ravening the prey."
You're one of the reasons I don't and won't participate here except on occassion.
Just this response will give you amunition to come back with something contrary or not nice.
Think about the consequences of your words Parker.
I guess I didn't make myself clear enough the first time.
Intentional conflict doesn't "help" anyone; it only gives the one causing it sadistic satisfaction.
So, I end this right now once and for all; go ahead Parker; make your day/night.
You can have the last words or icon you choose.
You just might try to be nice though; could you manage that; I think you can somehow, someway.
I like to believe there is good in everyone.
i've never been referred to as cattle before

i stepped over the line once here rabina with you, i admited it. that happens when you nipp away at someone and they will lash back. but i will not this time, so go ahead and get it out of your system.

There has been some good that came forth through this forum. Mainly people reaching out to find answers; and coping strategies. Reflecting, looking at how all the newbies came here and found us here with the negs. For Escher's theory to work; a person has to be extremely open minded; or at least has to be willing to let go of all theology; to try something new. For me, I would also require "a stronger pill".

I'm sure it's just do to my unfamiliarity, but it's almost overwhelming how much territory it covers, from voice hearing to anxiety, etc. I guess I'll explore a bit and try to get more familiar before forming an opinion.

@Paul,

NEARLY ALL MENTAL FORUMS require every single
post to be moderated before being posted in real time.
That's the only other option, at this point, IMO.

We're difficult, at times, unstable. What else is new?

Too bad really because this forum has all the main categories I think although
I guess some could be added too.
Alot of good information can be found here and the problems that arise come
from lack of respect for each others opinions and believing their reasons for hearing voices as well as
lack of sensitivity, lack of support, lack of compassion for the person.
There would be many more users here if all of the above were shown and if need be one
can always "edit" or delete their posts.
We all need to really think before typing out those words because there is a real human being
sitting behind that computer who may be in distress and chances are they are in distress too.
I've seen alot here from the more experienced voice hearers who either don't remember or choose
not to remember what the hell it's all about when you first begin experiencing any type of voice hearing.
I've seen alot of sadistic and cruel words all over the place from the tags to the posts.
I've seen schizophrenics referred to as numbers of the dead instead of human beings trying
to understand their own painful situation and just get possible answers and support.
I've seen it turn real ugly and there's no need for it at all because every single user here (as few as there are)
has the potential for showing decency to other human beings; every single one.
It can be done if each one of us will think and feel before we type those words.
Put ourselves in the other mans shoes before typing away; stop and think before typing away.
Real life, real emotions, real people behind the computer with real lives and real families to go with it.
If only we all could just stop and try harder to be more human.
Every life matters; everyone is important.
Well, remember this though, trust your gut instincts, trust yourself, believe in yourselves and also.
You can learn from others, but chances are you will learn the most from yourself.

Rab,

That's easy to say, but sometimes hard to practice.
The yahoo group is there, and the
hearingvoicesnetwork.com

Never was enough traffic here to justify it.

Why is it hard to be good???
It's not hard to be human; not hard at all...
My previous post states what I believe, think and feel.
Learn the most from yourself, but keep your eyes and ears open too.

Rab,
Well, people become either angry or stubborn,
and they refuse to back down, to let it go, become
unruly. This group also has huge spam problems
with just a few active members. Is it really worth
it?

Just my opinion, but I think that often the devil forbids
these types of groups & will cause friction with members
and owners; literal hell; to force a shutdown.

The Lord has conquered sin and death and brought us back to life.
The Lord will watch over you.
The Lord will smile when you laugh.
The Lord will care in your moments loss and bring you back to life.
End it on a good note hey with or without God; does not matter as long as it's good.

Rab,
If you ever get a chance, please read the book called
"The ascension of Isaiah". Read the bible Isaiah first, for
sure, so that you can judge for yourself, to see if it's the
same fellow in both books.

I've never had such experiences as he did, being "slain
in the spirit" (possessed by God). I guess that we all are,
subconsciously, being that he is "consciousness" itself, is
"reality" itself.
