Mental illness where moods shift: anger, sadness, etc.

So in the past hour my moods went from anger, to sadness, back to normal. Is it normal to experience so many moods in little time?

What happened was I was talking what we were going to do on my birthday next week and I realized we have hardly no money. It put me in a bad mood. I punched the wall (when nobody was looking), I started to get lost in my thoughts about how I deserve money in my life, especially knowing I am almost 29 years old. I went from anger, to sadness, to being lost in my thoughts, to numbness. I don't feel anything now. I just feel calm. This all happened in the last 30 minutes and nobody knows what was going on in my head. I keep this to myself.

This happens all the time. I feel like a dark cloud goes over me and puts me in a bad mood. It normally goes away, but I hate it. I don't want to live like this. What is wrong with me? I don't want to experience these thoughts. These feelings.

I don't think it much different then how other people feel.
Seems like you need it to calm down again.
I think it's a very good idea to keep talking about what's on your mind to ventilate your feelings.

I agree with Desire Less- internalising things can sometimes make them feel more intense, so talking through your emotions might help you to work through them and not feel so up and down
