Mental hospitals are chill because they’ll put you on whatever medication and not give a shit.. like you know what funky friends, I’ll take it. I’ll be the experiment. I’m tired of feeling like this anyhow, let’s see if you’ve got anything better

I have never turned to drugs and I’m trying really hard not to. I don’t want to start that habit and drag my family down with me. But I hate feeling like this. I don’t know how to cope.

"Drugs" can have many meanings. I try to get people I'm talking to to refer to Medication as meds and street drugs as drugs. I've done lots of both... Anyway...

The meds route can be anywhere from simple and pleasant to straight nightmarish. The most important thing you can do as you and your doctor traverse meds... Pay Attention. Know yourself. Know your meds. Know your doctor.

I've had good experiences and horrendous ones. One of my doctors almost killed me because they simply weren't paying attention to the meds they were prescribing. This isn't a scare tactic. It's to impart to you the importance of paying attention. Even to your doctor. If it seems like they're just throwing meds at you, ask questions. If you're dealing with a new prescription, pay attention to yourself.

Meds can be extremely helpful. They can the difference between sanity and misery...

Now, if you've been fighting taking meds for as long as you say, maybe it's time to look at them from a different viewpoint. There's no miracle medication... but, being able to live without whatever mental or emotional chaos you're going through... might be worth relaxing about meds...
