Wednesday

7pm, Star Trek Voyager - Pathfinder, Horror channel. Back on Earth the obsessive Reginald Barclay becomes obsessed with finding the stranded Voyager in space, even constructing a virtual reality (Holodeck) copy of the ship and sleeping there! His exasperated superiors send him for counselling.

His counsellor is a female Betazoid - since they can read minds - useful.

(Look at the outfits that the `mind-reading' Counsellor Troi typically wears - yet whenever she walks down crowded corridors etc she never like just slaps the faces of any men. So another example there of poor Star Trek canon).

An "itinerant pulsar" - mentioned in the episode - is a wandering collapsed star. If it sounds familiar then you are probably thinking of that wandering `itinerant Gulzar' - who married that Spice Girl and then quickly moved on leaving that star's bank account collapsed.

Barclay - "Has it ever occurred to you that a tachyon beam directed at a class-B itinerant pulsar could produce enough gravimetric energy to create an artificial singularity?"

Counsellor Troi - "I can't say it has."

(So she can't exactly have read his mind then - eh?)

Hey - I know those type of therapy sessions;

If (Main Party A opinion poll score < Main Party B opinion poll score) + (Ranter's focus group score > Main Party B focus group score) = Main Party A will rant at Moslems.

As I worked out from just 1 episode of Newsnight shown about 2 days before Jack Straw suddenly ranted about veils when the last bombing had been some months earlier - and show me in that Equation where the actual actions of Moslems is the sole Factor dictating whether they get ranted at or not by a Main Party - but "any jiggery pokery on that topic can't be proved" - eh?

10.35pm, Zara McDermott - Uncovering Rape Culture, BBC 1.

11.15pm, My Feral Heart, BBC 2. Luke, an independent young man with Down's syndrome, is forced to live in a care home after his elderly mother dies. He struggles to settle there, both frustrated at having his wings clipped by its rules, and unimpressed by his new house mates. His disappointment with his new home soon turns to wonder when Luke discovers a way out and begins to explore the surrounding countryside.
