Mental health patients turned away by NHS under controversial scheme. Serenity Integrated Mentoring (SIM) has been adopted by 23 NHS mental health trusts in England. It was designed to enable police and A&E services to cope with patients who regularly phone 999 or arrive at hospitals having self-harmed, attempted suicide, or threatened to take their own life.
