Hi. Ive been on anti depressants on and off for years until i stopped drinking 2 years ago. ( im a recovering alcoholic).

The mental health team took me off them and said i needed to be on quitiepine 50 mg. They dont seem to have done much apart from making me sleep like hell and make me feel a little disasociated.

My question for all out there is what does work for bpd ?

Well done for overcoming your addiction to alcohol! What an amazing achievement! 😁👍🏻🥳
How long have you been on the new meds? Can take a month or 2 for your body to begin to tolerate them and get into a 'normal' routine again.
In terms of what 'works' it is different for everyone, depends on you and what your main symptoms/issues are. The most recent medication I was on was Venlafaxine. That worked for me :) I'm completely weaned off now though

they say the best and main treatment for BPD is talking therapy and that medication doesn't help everybody
I personally would say a combination of the both is needed
very well done for overcoming your addiction

For BPD itself apparently therapy is the most beneficial.
However depends of other symptoms associated with the disorder.
Medication wise, depression, anxiety, insomnia etc
Which I think many other symptoms co- exist with BPD
They also need to be treated first so one can focus on therapy to help with BPD
