Hi.
Just wondered if anyone had dealt with similar to me?
I lost my voice as a physical symptom shortly after being diagnosed with GAD. The doctor said it was linked to the anxiety. I thought it was a reaction to medication as he changed it three times and each time I came off tablets my voice returned however my voice has now gone again and I’m not on and medication. He’s given me trazodone to take if it goes again but I just don’t wanna admit defeat and go back on tablets! So far in the last 18 weeks I’ve only had full volume for 14 weeks. The rest of the time is a whisper at best.

Anyone else had this experience or have any advice?

Hi here LGV and welcome. Yes you can lose your voice due to stress and anxiety. But nothing would show up on tests. I know when I’m anxious I can find talking extremely hard as if my throat has just closed up. It’s not that I don’t want to talk just that the words will come out stilted or very hoarse as if my throat is sore. I think it’s down to the muscles constricting in your throat. As your already on antidepressants I’m not sure what else is available

Yeah that’s the trouble. There’s nothing else they can give me and I didn’t wanna start back on the anti depressants yet. Main reason being I suffer with seasonal affective disorder aswell so I’ve got that to come on the next couple of months.

I get all the fun stuff 😂

Is your Vitamin D on prescription, Daf - or can you buy them over the counter?

I have a sad light. It gave me a little improvement. I think they carry from person to person. I hope it helps you!
