I got my first panic attack at the age of 22 and my symptoms have changed alot since then. I was officialy diagnosed with GAD at that age. Im 32 years old today.

During the first couple of years, I had head pressure, high blood pressure and a constant feeling of doom. During that time I used to hit the gym seriously and I got in shape. I would visit the ER twice a year with the feeling that I had a heart attack or whatever.. Eventually I accepted I was going to die and stopped giving a hoot. I started drinking and smoking and going out to parties. During that time, my panic attacks disappear and my feeling of doom could easily be remove with a couple of pushups or a beer. After 5-6 years of weekend binge drinking and nightlife. I eventually hit 28 and this is where I discovered Magnesium which would literally remove 95% of my symptoms. Magnesium is a magic cure and I take about 500mg per day, and it masks almost all my Anxiety.

I haven't had a panic attack in over 6 years, and my general sense of well-being is good. Unfortunately, I started developing other problems. At the age of 32, here are my problems:

[ WARNING: I quit smoking at a few years ago, and I drink a couple of beers (5 beers per weekend) I don't eat garbage, I actually eat lots of lean meat and veggies. So my diet is on point.

1- My left eye is constantly twitching. (perhaps because I drink alot of Coffee)
2- My Blood pressure seems to have jumped over 140 because of a recent Weight Gain and it seems that I can't seem to lose weight. Ive tried running, salad diets and intermediate fasting and I think that my stress is causing me to be unable to lose weight (financial problems and me being the sole working person in my family supporting everyone until my wife finishes her masters).
3- I wake up almost every night for a brief moment. I go to the bathroom to pee and go back to sleep. This has been happening every night for a year now. Its not that I wake up because I have to pee, but after waking up I might as well empty my bladder before heading back to bed.
4- My teeth are in perfect shape, but my gums seem to be bleeding when I brush them. Sometimes i can see blood on my gums. I ahve somekind of gingivitis which doesn't go away. I brush, visit dentists and floss like a mfer but it doesn't go away.
5- My sense of smell has been reduced. I can smell half of what I could smell in the past. I don't have a sinus infection or anything. I can still smell stuff when the weather is humid or when i bring something close to my nose, but it seems that my smell is reduced overall.
6- Everyday or every 2nd or 3rd day my Ears get red/flush for like 10 minutes. Sometimes its one ear, sometimes its both, sometimes it doesn't happen at all...

- So It seems that my Anxiety has shifted from "Being Afraid", "Panic Attacks" and "feelings unwell" to my current symptoms "Waking up during the night" , "eye twitching", "unable to lose weight" ," Light gingivitis", decreased sense of smell", "ear Flushing".

Everyday I keep thinking that I might have diabetes, cancer or something.. Otherwise i feel great. Im in shape, I don't get tired I don't have any headaches or problems moving, thinking or working.

Actually Even with this extra weight I carry, I manage to do pushups, military presses and regular weightlifting exercises without problems. I even walk around the city everyday (i walk about 5-10 hours per week) because my work demands it.

I don't know if its old age, life situation, if something is happening to me or am I just crazy... I have been to doctors a dozen times, all they do is tell me to Take Ace Inhibitors for my BP when my BP has clearly been changing from 120 to 150/80 regularly depending on how anxious I am. They are just interested in medicating me. When i meditate and take some magnesium my BP goes back to 120/80, so I am conviced that its in my head..

Doctors seem to be useless.. So I gave up on them a long time ago.. If i go to the doctor, they won't be able to help me, Since in the past, they weren't able to help me with anything.. I found magnesium by myself doing research, no doctor even thought that perhaps i had a magnesium deficiency..

I don't know what to think anymore.. Anyone with similar symptoms out there?

My experience with anxiety is identical. I found exercise was my only outlet. The smoking is an addiction I have struggled with, where I have quit for a very long time, but start up during a major life event.
I don't have a great anount of faith in doctors because I had to change a few to find a good one. Even then it's not much better. I will be checking out the magnesium. I really have some rough days with anxiety and have truly tried to work in taking care if myself.
I give you credit for cutting back on unhealthy habits, but it is really hard. It doesn't seem doctors understand so they just think drugs are the answer. I feel like you do, that I give up trying to get straight answers from them. It's frustrating because no matter what, I know I will always seem to have anxiety. Wishing you well and we shouldn't give up. I feel that way some days. TY for sharing. It helps to know I'm not alone.
