I'll try to keep it little, anyway!

Hey, all! I have been depressed with OCD my whole life, recently with anxiety. I feel like I've managed to come through a lot, yet I am still "stuck" in many ways. Hoping to loosen that stuckness so I can continue to progress. Some quick details: 38, female, in the US. A trigger of late is how jealous I get of others with significant others, children, and/or best friends. But if I'm honest with myself, I'm not so bad off--love my parents, have a few friends (more online), enjoy going into work and seeing co-workers. But it's these interminable weekends of utter aloneness, completely bored out of my mind, either sleeping or rocking back and forth, or just feeling frozen; ugh. Anyway, I could go on and on, but that's the gist of things :)

Hi and :welcome:
Its great you've joined us.
I can empathise with the loneliness.
I do find having a dog helps me.
Are you on medication for your anxiety and depression

Yes, an anti-depressant and, more recently, something for my anxiety. I expect to be on the anti-depressant for life--I don't know if I'd survive long without it. It helps my OCD too. Maybe someday, though, I can taper off the anti-anxiety one.

I had a cat, but she got old and sick and I put her down a couple months ago. I also have two mice, but they aren't too friendly, haha. I used to have a roommate and my mom said I was probably the happiest I had ever been then, but my OCD and my fear of her leaving (and my love of cats plus her dislike) caused issues and actually drove her away, sigh. Though probably eventually she would have left anyway since she was young and not settled and had many paths in life to choose from.

I'm glad you have a dog :) I've considered getting one, but I have a hard time getting out, so I worry it would suffer when I am just not able to as often as it needs. Probably another cat, but I am not sure I am quite ready; plus, my parents are struggling a lot, and I need to be free to hop on a plane to help them. But eventually!

I'm glad the antidepressant is helping.
I agree getting another cat when you're ready is best.
The loneliness is a horrible thing. Have you any hobbies, other interests? I find adult coloring quite therapeutic. Also I love reading.
Funny I had 2 mice here in my house they were field mice that I put out traps for I couldn't get them. I saw one walk up to the mousetrap have a look then turn around and go. He used to be on the patio a number of times and would hide but he wasn't too worried about me.
He seemed to be quite friendly I was pleased I never did catch him. Hes up and left lol
