When nobody will do it for you, you have to do it for yourself.

No. It’s not selfish.

Everyone in your life will benefit.

This thread is for positive reinforcement. Add a random message of encouragement. Not to anyone specific, just strength when you have it. There will be times that you don’t.
In case your mind is playing a trick on you: You matter. You're enough. You're loved. Your presence in this world makes a difference, whether you see it or not.

Do be kind to yourself, treat yourself,
Sometimes the best thing is to say its ok to not be ok. You are allowed to take time out,
The most important thing I have to say is mental Illness is that an illness, like any physical illness.
Like one nurse told me its like a brain injury and can take some time to get the right combo of meds to find the right balance

-Don’t underestimate the power of a smile 🙂.
-Don’t underestimate the power of voicing your positive thoughts.

-Say it out loud “ I am going to have a wonderful day”

My life would be less enriched without you all in it. I’m grateful for just how very kind everyone is here, even as we all struggle with what life has given us.

some days it feels impossible; other days you will ask what all the drama is about.

its part of BPD.

ive done a lot of learning since I started on here and I hardly ever come here bc im doing better. But im here today bc I feel like a box of arseholes and the self loathing is more intense than ever.

I have no control over my emotions (little control, maybe) and ive learnt to recognize them and live with them

im actively identifying when I BPD out. Im at the stage I still have feelings but these days im not as frightened of them. I can recognize when I do something that is BPD.

Like right now. Im on bc depression is chewing the heck out of me today, for no reason at all. Ive had quite a good week. Woke up depressed.

If you get a good therapist like I did, they help you to identify what is triggering you, which in turn helps to calm it.

I know its hard but love yourself through it. Take a walk, bake something, read a book, whatever it takes to calm you down.

I get valium these days and I know when to take it. When that horrible fuzzy feeling comes buzzing into my head. Like now actually.

Im also swimming and going to the gym which help. Even a walk helps. They dont cure you but you feel stronger, and the stuff ive sorted out in my head while dragging up and down the pool, is amazing.

Being on the recovery path I can totally relate to what you say. We’ll always have highly charged emotions, we just have to learn to manage them. Personally I like meditation, exercise and yoga. Anything to slow you down that gives you time to think (before you act). I’ve got a long way to go but I try to visualise the emotional scale with suffering at one end and ecstasy at the other and endeavour to pull myself towards the middle. 🤗
