Oh Jules please don’t drink and drive. You could seriously harm yourself or even worse some innocent person. Take tomorrow as a new day . You’ve done it before and you can do it again. There are a few people on here that know how hard this struggle can be and I hope someone can post some help for you.

Please don't risk yourself or others, I know you must be struggling.
Have you been to your GP for support? Or do you have a crisis team you can phone.
Let people help you thru this very tough time.
Take care

I'm on a relapse, after five years sober, and I refuse to own a car, because I would be drunk driving, too, and I just can't be a part of such a tragedy. I do not drive.

But if you're trying to get sober again, you know what to do. If you got sober through a 12 step program, go back to it. If you got sober without a 12 step program, maybe try one, or an inpatient treatment program.

If you just want to get drunk and you think you can maintain a functional existence, go for it.
But if you're out there risking your own safety and everybody else's then it's reached 'out of control' proportions, and you should get into a detox, or something.

Ask a friend to take your keys and hide them when you start drinking. There's really, literally no reason to suffer the consequences of drunk driving. If it's something that you really cannot control, consider the pros/cons of public transportation in your area. It might be worth a monthly fee to avoid the daily expenses of your personal transportation, especially considering that one of those expenses is yours' and others' safety when you've drank a little and gotten cabin fever at the same time.

Good luck to you.
