I didn't know I had actually been diagnosed as having an anxiety disorder before, I just found out as it is on the nurse's little notes paper they carry around with them. One of the nurses dropped it and there on the paper under my name is: Schizoaffective, mood disorder, GAD. I haven't actually been given anything to combat this anxiety so who knows? Nothing has been mentioned except I was really jumpy when I first got admitted.
What's the go with GAD? Do meds help or is therapy the best treatment option? Or is it a case of I'm in the too hard basket due to my other diagnoses?

Just wondering.

Meds and therapy usually. You might not have been specifically given meds to combat anxiety due to meds for your mood disorder. A lot of meds for other mental health issues seem to be helpful towards anxiety.

They tend to focus on treating symptoms rather than focusing on the disorders. So I dont think your other issues will be having an effect on how they treat you.

I have a few issues but my anxiety seems to be the one that causes the most issues so they focus on treating that.
