I hurt myself last night...
And even if it’s not really deep I have difficulties to move my hand... it’s really not that bad and it’s more bruised than anything else but still what can I do ?
I haven’t felt that way and the need to do it for many years so I’m kinda freaking out. I don’t think I will do it again but still I am ashamed of myself and I feel very weak.
I am a mess.

IT's hard to totally break that habit, I know from experience.

First things - don't do that again. It solves nothing.
Next - you might want your hand looked at, hands are important, make certain you didn't do serious damage.

You should talk to a professional, but - what brought it on this time? Is that an old trigger, or a new one? PErsonally, I find it hard to remember exactly why I thought it was a good idea - but can you remember why you thought it was a good idea? You need to be able to predict things that can trigger self harm, so you can figure out how to short circuit it before the need becomes to pressing.

Ultimately, you need to come up with a way to cope with those emotions that isn't harmful. And then, make it a reflexive habit.

I hope that was a bit helpful.

I’d probably ice it and if it keeps hurting after a day or two go see a doctor for it.

Don’t freak out, you know it’s not something you want to keep doing but it doesn’t make you a failure to have a setback. Just care for yourself and like nuke said try to think about what you were feeling and why you felt that way. Next time you start to feel that way you can find a different outlet.

I would get it checked out, especially if you are having difficulties moving it.

It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Don’t be ashamed, really don’t be. You went for years without feeling the need to do it and you already thinking how you wouldn’t do it again.

Life is full of slip ups, it isn’t perfect x
