Hello.
I have recently been ‘diagnosed’ with GAD and really struggling today. They have referred me to counselling. Below are just a few things I experience and just interested to know if anyone else does?
- Sudden urges of anger (triggered by loud eating especially)
- can’t relax constantly on the go
- no issue with going to sleep but always wake up around 2am and can’t go back to sleep as thinking about random things that I need to do!
- feeling guilty over stupid things
-avoiding social situations
-fearing something bad is going to happen
- rapid heart beat
-stomach cramps

I love Bath, you are so lucky living there.

GAD, i think anxiety is responsibility for so many things.

Can't relax, feel guilty, fearing something bad...yes...all of that.
Have you tried meditation?

Are you on medication or been offered any kind of therapy?

The symptoms you describe are all in an anxiety diagnosis.

I have seen a counsellor once and have another appointment in a few weeks but it all seems to be getting worse. But it’s a relief to know they are all symptoms. Thank you

Hi pinkbutterflies,

You said you had been ‘ diagnosed’ with GAD.
Did the counsellor make this diagnosis or your G or other medical person etc?

Were you asked specific questions or alternatively a questionnaire to fill out.
If so, did it contain how you had been feeling over the last 2 weeks and give
options such as ‘every day’ ‘more than half the days’ half the days’ ‘not at all.’

If so this is an official way of diagnosing GAD.

Im glad to help.
I have suffered it also.

If you feel you need to talk before your next appointment then post here,
or pm me.
I’m glad to help.

Take care.
