is a manic person a bit deluded though,......my da was a bit bi polar and he did a few crazy things....i just wondering about the illness as id like to be a psych nurse

When having a manic episode you dont have to be crazy you can become very productive. Ive had some episodes where i have been off the wall. But a lot of my mania made me put more hours in at work get decorating done and generally become more industrious. Unfortunately the drop always comes and that can be more debilitating

"Insanity" isn't a medical term, it's a legal one, so sure you could be deemed insane by a court if you commited a crime and it was ruled that you didn't know what you were doing due mania. I find it highly unlikely that mania would be enough for the insanity plea though.

Mania is not delusions . just people working at light speed! And delusions are almost always schizo affective
/ schizoprenia etc. Big difference. I applaud your idea of being a mental health nurse. Takes a special breed for that so go for it!
