we always hear "it's all in your head"
the way you take bullets, lfe problems, breaking ups, being abandooned by friends, snubbing of various kind. basically, if you're healthy you should be ok or ok-like with those things, but, how is it? possible? i mean techically: shouldn't the brain stop working well after a lotta while of troubles?

One bad/poor decision can often lead to another. It's important to get quality opinions and support during these times. Anxiety/stress/fear etc. can lead to rushed decisions, which will probably increase the odds of making a bad/poor decision. One side effect of conditioning yourself for suicide in my opinion is it destroys emotions. Not a good thing!

hi Claudie :welcome:

yes I get that sometimes I feel like I'm shutting down
which either means I need to rest
or I need to tell people what I'm going through
like you did here

I hope you find it helpful here

Hi

The brain loves repeating patterns. First time you feel / act a certain way makes it easier to feel / act that way again, even easier the third time and so on. It becomes automatic and comfortable. For me, suicidal thinking is like this too. The trick is to realise there are other options and to chose to think and act differently. Not easy and quite scary but doable. Suicide is not an escape, it is an end and likely a very painful one.
