Hi. How are you all today? I am 22 years old and live in Scotland. The other week i was put on 15mg of the anti-psychotic Zyprexa(Olanzapine) by the pdoc. He says it sounds like i have Bipolar(Manic Depression). My question is is Bipolar(Manic Depression) a severe mental illness?Am i severely mentally ill?

It can be, without treatment. It's a good thing they are starting you on meds.

Really does depend on how the person who has it handles it and how intense each episode is.
