Irrational fear!!!!

Hey! I’ve got a huge irrational fear of having an anaphylactic shock. I’ve never been allergic to anything in my life but since my anxieties have all started again I’ve been experiencing different symptoms such as tight feeling in the throat and feeling like I’ve got something stuck. It’s taking over my life, I will obsessively read ingredients to food and refuse to eat in restaurants just in case they cross contaminate with foods that I don’t feel comfortable with. It’s ruining my relationship with my partner and controlling my life but I’m not sure how to get past this. Any advice would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

Wow you joined in February 2011 and this is your first post. :welcome: mate. I have tons of fears. But I don't know if they are irrational though. Maybe try anxiety medication and therapy. Another one I heard that I should start applying more is deep breathing. I always quit deep breathing for some reason. We both have bad anxiety. Maybe we could practice deep breathing together. Breathe in for 4 seconds through the nose, hold for 7, exhale slowly through the mouth for 8 seconds. I think that's how it goes. Do that for 5 minutes per day. We can hold each other accountable for the deep breathing too. I was waiting till I get a clock on my wall so I could accurately measure the five minutes with the big hand. Good luck mate.
