As Jordan Peterson suggests that IQ is the underlying fact that determines what tier of jobs are most appropriate to you. With a lower IQ its inevitable that you will be stuck in lower paid jobs that are most likely physical and repetitive. The sad truth is that there is no technology as of today to increase your fluid cognition. This is factual in the real world, as lower IQ individuals usually will have a difficult time competing with intelligent beings in a workplace. People will judge you and intentionally humiliate you to the point that your confidence and self-esteem vanishes.

Why in the world am I born this way?! and there is no way out! I am feeling very anxious for my future career prospects as well as fearful that my family and friend will not ever look up to me because I am incapable of keeping and getting a good career. Is it just me or has anyone have this feeling.

When you are obese you can work out more, when you are not pretty enough you can wear makeup, when you are dumb you are just dumb! It took me 8 years to fricking get my degree in Accounting and now I am unemployed.

oh yeah. and I am not even very good with numbers.

I don't agree with that idea from jordan peterson. Definitely in the Uk your job prospects are very influenced by class, where you went to school, who your parents are. I don't know if that is true in america but I think being networked generally helps more than intelligence. There are lots of different kinds of intelligence anyway. There is not only one way to be useful in society.
It sounds like you are very harsh on yourself, you have done very well to get a degree in accounting even if it took you longer than you would like.
Why don't you start some volunteering to help boost your confidence and give you a social outlet? In my understanding it is much easier to get a job if you have a current role on the cv, employers like to see that folk keep busy and are proactive even if not working
Good luck!

This is such bullshit. I worked for managers who were extremely dumb and many had high paid jobs that only require basic reading, maths skills and IT skills. Software does everything for people these days, it's just a matter of going through the motions. I saw people in the office just having a laugh playing in their chairs like children.

It's about pleasing people in power, knowing how to play people. Which I guess is a skill too but not to do with IQ.

In the UK lots of kids are hired for better paying jobs where they do not have to do much or learn much at all and they cannot even get basic things like operating a dishwasher, even if explained several times. They are hired because of who their parents are, the school where they went to, the area they live in.

It's all about referrals. Nobody ever feel dumb of stupid for not getting a job because skill or experience, nobody cares about that, it's a lie.

Seriously, I've worked with people who I don't even know why they were hired except they lives in the posh area of town. It was unreal.

It’s true there are a lot of dumb people with good paying jobs but when you are talking about climbing up the corporate ladder it’s always the smartest survive. The dumb people will eventually make the company lose money or do something dumb of course that Jeopardize his/her job. Having high Cognitive ability is always an better asset.

It's not the smartest, it's those who lick boot the best. It's a social game, it's about status and doing the things that get you status.

This ^ people who are socially smart do just as well if not better financially. I know loads of people with mensa-high IQs who work minimum wage bc they have no other job skills. Salesmen can make hella bank w/o being super smart bc they’re good at acting at manipulating. Same applies to actors and models and whatnot. Really not something u need to worry about OP.

You call yourself dumb yet you have a degree in accounting!! how ever long it took you, you got your degree!! I was in bottom set, less than bottom set, I was in remedial, was treated like subhuman at school, told "whats the point of taking your CSEs, I was too thick for O levels, you'll fail them anyway" I have struggled to get decent employment and when I've got a job have struggles to do well in it, because basically I'm incompetent. I dream of having a degree, even if it took me 25 years, but that is just a fantasy because I really don't have the intelligence.

Sorry but job or not yet, you don't know how lucky you are to have a degree after your name, 8 years is simple a part time degree or an OU degree and lots of intelligent people do that, I have to live vicariously through my children, who are a damn sight smarter than me.

Enjoy your intelligence and remember 50% of this comment has been spell checked :)
