I wasn't sure where to post this so apologies for the duplicate post in different forums! If you have intrusive thoughts does this mean you have OCD or can they be a symptom on another anxiety disorder? I have been diagnosed with GAD but I'm suffering from intrusive thoughts and when you Google intrusive thoughts all the info seems to be on OCD. My intrusive thoughts aren't about hurting people, for example I don't get a thought about stabbing someone or myself but they are all about things I may have done in the past. "What if I committed a crime in the past and I've blocked it out and the police are going to come and arrest me?" Or if I've driven along a dark country road at night "what if I've hit someone without realising and I've seriously injured or killed someone?" I don't have any compulsions but these are the thoughts that go through my head. Could this just be a symptom of my anxiety disorder or should I be trying to see an OCD specialist?

Yes, this nagging doubt sounds exactly like OCD. When I was at university, I used to have this fear that I would be expelled based on some error I may have made on my application form.
