Insurance covering mental health issues

Hi.

I'm looking to find some kind of health/life insurance policy. I was wondering if anyone on here has found an insurer that was very good about mental health issues?

I don't want the policy to cover a fortune, myself and my gf rent - no mortgage, and my requirements after I'm gone - should anything happen - as as cheap as can be. I'd just like to make sure our rent was covered for a while.

I'm not in bad health physically, part time smoker/drinker, regular gym goer, healthy diet, but from my initial investigations, filling in the quote forms gets complicated when it gets to the section on mental health, and at that point, they often demand a phone call to discuss it further.

My mental health (depression and anxiety) goes up and down. Obviously I wouldn't expect a payout if I ended my life, but rather than have to go into it in painful detail, couldn't there just be a clause saying I'm covered for everything apart from that?

I also understand I'm likely to pay a premium for alcohol & tobacco use, and we do have some health issues in the family, but I'd be prepared to pay a little more for basic cover.

Anyone out there had a good experience with health insurers on these issues paying out without putting you through the wringer, and that you have confidence in them paying out at least something should anything happen?

I'm paranoid that I'll forget to cross a T, dot an I on the form, or not mention something in my health history, and when I'm gone they refuse to pay out....

Thanks.

I looked into travel insurance with all my physical ailments and got cover. When I added Bipolar Disorder, I couldn't find any! Sorry not much help for you. I don't know anything about it I'm afraid.
