The thing is, there are alternatives that are safer, not as destructive. That was my link, it was about several medication free alternatives that are far less risky than ECT.

i suspect most of these med free alternatives require money or moving in the sort of circles were they're available

i heard in america medical insurance companys are into ect because it produces a quick out of hospital result saving money where as the med route takes longer

but theres all these anti psychiatry rumours theres enough rumours about meds big pharma etc
Thank you for dropping in and offering up some information.
I live in Toronto, Canada. The issue of insurance and the like is not really an issue up here. I want to get better, and the sooner the better. I don't know how to just 'be'. I am filled with fear I'll lose it again and by that I mean break down and cry. I have crying in public, on the buses I take everyday. I do not like to cry in public, or with anyone around me.
I just finished almost 40 minutes on my elliptical trainer in the hopes I would feel better. Can't say I do. OK, I also do not feel worse, but just that disappointment I have been feeling because working out is not working on me. Fudgk. It's like I am in mid air not having anything to grasp for my (emotional) safety.
Seriously, what does someone do? How am I supposed to be? When I look into the future, and I mean the very near future, I still see no way out.

I have tried everything, every medication, talk therapy, exercise therapy. I did not come to this easily or as an 'easy way out'.
I am so exhausted in every which way.
I can't think about any more-for now.

Hi. I see this is a very old post, but just wondering how your doing? I was drawn in by the subject matter (ECT), which I am currently going through.

Have you been having any issues with it? What has the experience been like to date?
