last night out of nowhere he just got really low and went to lie down
im wondering if he is heading for a low and wanted advise from other bipolar sufferers on how they cope when they are in a low phase and also manic too for the future ,I want to be a really good girlfriend and support him as best I can
he has been there for and helped me so much I want to help him too xxx


cant sleep as worried about him-he has been without meds for 2 days and wont have any until Friday-on sertraline-will they still be in his system? xxx

He might be experiencing some withdrawal side effects from not having his meds. I take sertraline too and after a couple days you can tell a difference. But since he’ll have them soon they’ll quickly get back to a normal level. Withdrawal kinda feels like the flu so he might just feel gross until then.

If he stays over a lot make sure he has meds at your house, my boyf with severe depression leaves enough of all his various tablets here so he never goes without.

Is he getting enough sleep? I know you were having to take shifts to do eye drops so could that be why?

I wouldn't worry about anything just now, I am sure you are doing a great job of supporting each other.

I just need Comfert when I’m in a low. Just let me be in my low but lay with me and watch tv with me. Reassure me but not too much that it’s only a phase and soon I’ll be back to normal. Never say just be happy or don’t worry things like that make me feel worse. If I’m worried about money my husband always tells me we will find a way and make play to get the bills paid. Things like that help me. As for the manic part. I can’t really help I like being in my manic stage because I get everything done that I didn’t do when I was depressed. It does help when my husband reminds me to slow down so I don’t over do it and push myself into a low. Help him make a scheduled to stick to now that he is low that also helped me when I was depressed your whole day laid out. And I try and get at least one productive thing a day done. That way when I’m low I know I at least sis one thing and when I’m high I know to slow down my load and only try and do one thing instead of a hundred. Also to help with the burn outs my therapist suggested breaking up my thought that keep me awake doing a hundred things on my highs into a week. I write down everything I’m thinking I want to do and spread it out in the week and my mind is more at ease. I hope all of this helps
