I'm new. Sorry for this as a first post.
I have Bipolar Type 2. I'm currently
Having a manic episode. I was told
By my psych over the phone to go
To the ER. My therapist said if I can
Fight then to hold off.
I'm wanting to self harm in sever
Ways. I've been with my therapist
For almost 11 years. My psych almost
Year.
I've been suffering with this episode for
Almost 2 weeks now. On a scale of
1-10 I'm a 10.

Please help.

If you are a 10 then maybe either going to the ER or finding someone to be with you is the best idea.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

My friends are out of town.
The hospital is my only choice and I
Don't know how long they could
Keep me.
But my psych said ER was best.
I see my therapist tuesday.
I was shaking last night.
I don't know what that's about.

Have you taken yourself to the
ER before? It's so humiliating.

Ok, here is the question you need to ask yourself. I know you are a 10 out of 10 mood wise.

Out of 10 with 1 being the lowest, what are the chances you are going to harm yourself if left alone?

And yes I have taken myself to A&E (the British version) It took two days to do it but I have.

You were in the hospital for 2 days? Awwww I'm sorry.
And yes very close to self harming.
I havent admitted myself in a long time.
It's either the ER or the Psych ward. I think I need the
ER I just need to feel safe.

No I meant it took me two days to actually get myself to A&E as I was scared. I'm lucky that except from one rude nurse the staff were brilliant. I was there for about 20 hours in the end.

To keep yourself safe, if there is no one you can call on the ER might be the best idea :)

Last time was about 4 months ago.
They didn't even keep me that long.
I was told Wednesday to go. I'm just scared.

I understand you are scared but it's all about your safety. If there were people around I would say try and go to somewhere but if you really think you aren't going to stay safe then ER is the only other option x

I had a trip to A&E when I took an overdose. I was in there for several hours. I can still remember the disdainful look on the nurse's face, which I expect she reserved just for mental patients.

Is it worth it to go to the ER?
Maybe they would inject me with
Something to calm me down.

I don't think I will go. I see my
Therapist on Tuesday. She knows
What's going on.
