Over the past couple of weeks I have been the victim of identity theft. All my online shopping sites have been hacked and my bank account has been compromised, the worst hit being Amazon and they don't seem to be doing very much. It's made me all very paranoid - there are people out there who know where I live and all of my personal details, I don't feel safe in my own home. But the voices are loving it, they love teasing me telling me that I'm not safe, that these people are going to break in during the night and kill me, they tell me that I'm being watched and that I shouldn't go out (I only go out twice a week with support workers). They are scaring me and they are enjoying it.

i've been the victim of identity theft, makes you stressed up with all the phoning around to sort it out and i wonder if it's because of my internet footprint on sites like this as vulnerable and i've been targettted, i've now been put on a fraud list and they say it could effect my employment prospects at least i can say what employment prospects

some in my peer support group when i mentioned it said lunatics shouldn't go on the internet

I keep changing my password and they still manage to break in. I've changed my email address as well. I'll see if that helps.

I hate using the phone so I've got quite stressed. The stress is making the voices worse.

Is your WIFI secure?

Are you sure your computer has not been hacked? Maybe need to re-install Windows.

I think my WIFI is secure. How would I know if it's not? I think my email account has been hacked. My emails keep ending up in the Trash rather than the inbox.
helen have you contacted the police?
Midnight I haven't, do you think I should?

I really think you should re-install windows. My dad's computer was hacked and I had to re-install to get it clean again.

use a different password for every web site. use the domain name as part of your password so you remember.

for example, yahoo.com password could be yahoo998877
cnn.com could be cnn998877

then people will be less likely to know your passwords.
