Sorry if it’s tmi but I got sick last night, and now every time I eat or drink it makes me anxious to think about the food in my belly. There’s a new voice in my head (I am already a diagnosed schizophrenic) telling me “you need to go throw up”, and it’s making me incredibly anxious. Even the texture of food has started putting me off. I’m terrified of vomiting, to the point where I get the shakes, so I don’t know why I suddenly have this burning desire to go and throw up after everything I consume. I don’t know if I’m posting this in the right place, I just need someone to talk to that can help me sort it out. Please, and thank you.

Maybe your healthy voice can explain to it why you need to eat and the dangers of purging. You could even go into a private room and have a full blown argument with it. Maybe the voice will admit it wants to harm you. Maybe you can say no, I won't listen to you. I'm more powerful than you are.

That’s a very good way of doing that, thank you so much for the advice. I’ll try it out and keep you updated 😊

You need to change your mindset, brings positivity in you do whatever helps you to be motivated because this is the natural way to stop anxious behavior development. You can also try mindfulness activities.
