fear is a warning whenever your mind is predicting pain is coming
your emotions are a reaction to your mind
fear is a reaction to your mind believing pain is coming
fear is attempting to warn you, and get you ready.
if a bear is running towards you then some fear is a good thing. you will run.
fear is like the engine light in your car, its warning you. sometimes the engine light starts going off constantly for no reason and is annoying. or maybe its going off for a reason we are not aware of. the engine looks fine but actually there is an issue we cant see. so we need to investigate more deeply.
thats what psychotherapy does. investigates more deeply. you can do it on yourself.
