I've been in contact w/ someone who has BPD & I belive needs some kind of proffesional help but they do not want to have it happen in person (for reasons I will not mention) & they cannot pay for it. I would like to help them but I don't know where to direct them. Please could I get some suggestions?

Nero, I'm sorry to be getting back to you so late. Where do you live, or where does this person who needs help live ?? You need to look into whether or not there is free counseling in that area. Can the person afford counseling on a sliding scale ?? Here where I live there is a free counseling center that sends a therapist to your house. But you get what you pay for; the counselors are very elementary.

Not wanting the therapy to be in person places an impossible demand. The only care they could get then is Doctor on Demand type services which are on your smart phone or lap top and cost a lot of money. There is a growing field of on line therapy but you can't tap into it unless this person has family that would be willing to help pay.

I would say this person has to get over the idea that she or he can find therapy over a phone instead of in person.
