My mum passed away suddenly when I was an adolescent. Now as I approach the age she was when she died, I miss her more and more. The saddest thing is though I can barely remember her. Thirty years ago she passed. There are pictures but I don’t relate to them. The Ed Sheeran song Supermarket Flowers gets me every time. All my friends still have their parents alive so they don’t understand what I’m going through really.

Is it wrong to miss someone after so long?

Hi Vanish,
I'm so sorry for your loss, I recently lost my dad. I don't think I'll ever stop missing him.
It isn't wrong at all, we all grieve in different ways.
Here to listen anytime.
Take care

Hey Mayflower7, thanks for reassuring me that what I feel isn’t wrong. I tried mentioning it to a psychologist once and she wanted to label me as complicated grief disorder. I think it hurts so much because I wasn’t allowed to grieve properly when younger. My dad got remarried to my mum’s sister soon after which I struggle with even today. In a way I lost my dad too because he’s not allowed to have much to do with me.
