I feel guilty and depress when I support/Comfort other people. Should I?

I have anxiety and depression, but since I joined this forum, I would like to support and comfort other people who suffer like me or other depression issue. I'm comforting them as much as I can.

Is it right to do like that? I feel like even I still can't recover my own anxiety and depression, why am I helping other people like me? This is make me guilty and lost confident.

Please advise. Thanks!

It is a noble thing to want to help people so go with it. One thing, don't give all the compassion you have away, save a lot of it for yourself. Sometimes that means stepping away if it gets too much and not feeling bad about not giving. You have to take care of yourself first and it can be draining to experience others' suffering and try to help.

Yes, you are right.When I help people, when I talk with them my anxiety are alittle bit better and I think I can distract them while helping people.

But I feel still not sure it is right or not. Also feel sorry for people I help since I'm not anxiety free person.

I agree you should save some compassion for yourself but hey there is nothing wrong with helping others even when you are struggling. I think this is why this site is so great because people who haven't experienced something similar can give all the positivity in the world, but to know that someone else is immersed in it with you, you can try to help each other out of it...you know?
I understand what you mean though..I don't want to seem hypocritical either, but it's like..giving support or advice to others helps me remember to try to follow it myself too (but as we know..mental illness makes that really hard to do)

Yeah mental illness make that really hard to do, I help to people because as I mentioned that's really distract my anxiety and overthinking. So make me comfortable for a while.

But as you said yes I should save some compassion for myself. I just feel not sure it is right or not ?

And why would it be wrong to have compassion for yourself? why not honor yourself as you are now? I don't think as humans we can ever be permanently happy, I believe we have to respect the struggles too, we gain perspective with them...and when these perspectives of different people communicate, they connect where they can,,it's like weaving a beautiful spiderweb that we are all in...but it's not a bad thing, we see the connections and see the path of where maybe we can go in our journey
