I am being treated for bipolar 2 an d i was prescribed Divalproex. I've been really bummed lately cause i really don't want to take any meds at all. I took them for 2 weeks and i got a little out of my funk but i missed an appt with my doc on accident and because it was the 4th missed appt (i have been going to this doctor for about 5 years) he would have to let me know if i could still be seen there. So i stopped taking my meds until they got back to me and i got really depressed and didn't leave my room for a couple days. since then I've been struggling again with the idea of taking meds again. They got back to me and told me to refill my prescription but now I'm not sure what to do.

I don't have the same diagnosis, but what I can say is that it's the better of two evils to take them.

I have been put back in hospital too many times because I stopped my meds.

If you think of recovery as a road, every time you quit meds it gets harder and harder to walk down.

I have only recently gone back on them, and I know now for a fact that I am stuffed and have to take them.

There are worse things to have that pills don't help.

I haven't been taking my medication but i did ask for a refill from the pharmacy. They said my dr hasn't accepted my refill request yet. if i would've kept taking the meds like i was supposed to i would be out of meds right now with no refill. Another reason i don't want to take meds. i feel like a dope fiend waiting for my drug dealer to call me back.

Bipolar II

Hey mate, i suffer from bipolar as well and have to take meds daily. And i can tell you from experience the first month is by far the worst on you. You get moody, your body can play up with you, like constipation or diarhea, you might feel funky in the stomach and you may NOT wanna leave your room but you have to perservere my brother. You need to try and push through the annoyance that you feel and try for a better life. You deserve to be happy. Just remember that. Have a look at this post I found that I thought was pretty funny for people with mental health problems. Its so true that it made me laugh.

Also

if your Dr isnt filling your script just go to another Dr. Thats pretty damn lousy not to mention a duty of care for him not to provide you with scripts. If you stop taking these meds suddenly you can actually get really sick so I would really be seeking out a new Dr and fucking this other one off.
IF you need any other help let me know.

I'm Naturally against Drugs, Too, But I've been on so Many, I'm Not afraid to Try them x x

I Would read the FDA Documents, about the Drugs, and write down, if I have any Serious side-effects, Especially ones That are Warned against . . .

Drugs are made to be taken Daily, when you stop, they're gone in about 24 Hours, Max. 48 - -

Good Luck, You Deserve it <3 <3
