It's 11:38 pm as I'm typing this sentence. I took my medication at 9 pm and usually it works several minutes, especially if I eat something right after taking it. Well I did eat something. It was a sandwich with Gouda cheese, ham, salami, tomatoes, and mushrooms. And I still can't sleep. I don't know how to fight insomnia.

That sandwich sounds good .

Sometimes I have a hot chocolate, and that helps me sleep.

I'm developing a better cure for insomnia

My cure for insomnia is to argue with strangers online all night about how shitty their home looks. I'll say, holy cow you went with rustic rooster red paint for the siding, and country white egg tone on the trim? Why the hell would you ever think that looks good to your neighbors? Your house is quite frankly an embarrassment to everyone civilized.

Eventually we both tire of arguing about it, and fall asleep

Thank you, all of you!

I finally fell asleep at like 1 am. It took FOREVER. Oh well, at least I fell asleep.

I hate insomnia and I wish insomnia didn't exist. :curseyou:

I wish we were all able to fall asleep whenever we felt like it.

2:50 am. Took meds at 9 pm, like I always do. Ate a lot. Still wide awake. I just drank lavender tea.

Those who don't have insomnia give tips like "try to relax". I try and try and try! I toss and turn in bed! What else am I supposed to do if I can't fall asleep?! And they better not give me that 'counting sheep' BS because that doesn't work at all!!! :curseyou:

Have you ever thought about taking a sleeping medication like Ambien? Sorry you can't sleep. My sister has bad insomnia and Ambien helps her sleep.

Yes I'm on 45 mg of mirtazapine and a half of 50 mg levomepromazine at night. I tried ambien once. Terrible. I couldn't sleep and I ended up seeing shadow people everywhere. I'm glad it worked out for your sister!

OMG I'm so sorry you have trouble with sleep! How awful! Not sleeping for weeks sounds like a nightmare.
:hug1:
It's so frustrating. I wish we had a solution.

Often that is the way it goes, one night of poor sleep and then the next night you’re fine...
