Hi there to all. I'm really embarrassed by this situation and I guess that's why I'm posting it here rather than telling someone but here goes. I want to switch therapists because I stopped going to my therapist with little warning for 6 months. I feel really bad and guilty and I feel like this is going to make it hard for me to open up to her. I came and apologized to her and set up an appointment again, but now that appointment time won't work anyways. Should I try to make it work again or how do I tell her I don't want to see her anymore?

Do not feel guilty ! The absolute worst thing you can do is get therapy that doesn’t serve you. There is no shame on breaking up with your therapist at any time. If they are any therapist they will understand 110%.

To be honest talk therapy just doesn’t work. Change should happen pretty quickly if you are going to someone who wants what is best for you rather than a pay out every session.
