Hi

Many people get nervous or self-conscious on occasion, like when giving a speech or interviewing for a new job. But social anxiety disorder is more than just shyness or occasional nerves. Anxiety disorders are generally very treatable, but people who experience them find them hard to overcome. In order to overcome depression, you have to nurture yourself by asking for help from others, setting limits on what you’re able to do, adopting healthy habits, and scheduling fun activities into your day. You can also find a therapist from therapist directory to overcome with anxiety and depression.

I think when someone is scared or nervous it is very easy to call it "anxiety" and when someone is low or sad it is very easy to say they are "depressed" and throw meds at the situation, however its' knowledge that really helps. Self-awareness and belief that you are not "over-reacting" if its' the way you feel then there is no over-reacting about it. Anxiety can be very lonely and it is very difficult not to be jealous of those who are seemingly so very confident. The best thing to remember is that really, they may not be as they are only human too.

Hi there,

I went through a period like you describe. A local school was running evening classes and one subject was acting. I was terrified but I joined. It was fun because you can act out anything and it gave me a lot of confidence to face the world. You can pretend anything - your fears, but it is not you it is the actor. Great.
